The Field Stations Program offer many opportunities for educators, researchers, students, and the general public to get involved with FSP activities.

Additionally, jobs at the four SDSU field stations are often available. And, of course, we always welcome new collaborators and users!

Support FSP

Dynamic field station programs in outdoor living laboratories heavily rely upon the support of extramural funds and private donations.

Whatever you choose to contribute will truly make a difference. The FSP receives less than 20% of funding from annual California state monies. We rely on private gifts for faculty and student research fellowships, new facilities, conservation and land acquisition programs, synoptic collections and herbaria, and education outreach programs.

To learn more about making a contribution, please refer to the Support FSP section.

Volunteer

The Field Stations Program has a volunteer program that allows participation in activities that best fit each person's niche. With activities ranging from brochure design to landscape planning and facility development, the FSP always welcomes new volunteers and encourages the greater San Diego County community to become involved!

Online materials detailing specific volunteer opportunities and guidelines are now available.

Employment

Please refer to the FSP Employment section for current job opportunities.

The Organization of Biological Field Stations maintains a list of openings at field stations throughout the nation. Please refer to the OBFS Job Board for these opportunities.

Student Internships

Various internship opportunities are often available with the Field Stations Program. The FSP faculty and staff also help place student interns with the organizations and institutions that utilize the field stations for research and education.

To view a complete list of student intern options available with, or affiliated with, the FSP, please refer to the Internships section.
