Crowd comes out in Temecula against quarry

Like knights ready to engage in battle to defend their king's realm, opponents of a quarry south of Temecula came out in force Sunday.

About 1,000 people showed up for a protest parade to demonstrate that they have the requisite mettle to fight for their cherished way of life, which they believe is threatened by the project.

Residents march against proposed gravel mine

A decision about a proposed gravel mine south of Temecula may rest with Riverside County officials. But on Sunday, area residents made sure their voices were heard.

Led by a marching band and two Temecula council members, about 1,000 people marched a half mile to a rally against the proposed quarry.
