NOTE: FOLLOW YOUR ODOMETER!

From I-15 North: Take the Hwy 79 South exit. The turn-off is right after the boarder check
From I-15 South: Take the Hwy 79 South exit. The turn-off is the last exit as you travel through Temecula.

On Hwy 79, travel 27 miles towards Warner Springs and turn left onto Chihuahua Valley Road (look for large green sign). Please observe your odometer.

On Chihuahua Valley Road, travel for 6.5 miles (all asphalt).

Turn onto Lost Valley Road: At 6.25 miles, the road will take a sharp right. Instead of continuing to the right, you drive straight ahead, crossing the road and you will see two roads ahead. The one on the left has a white square archway over it with two white gates. The gate to the left is usually closed and has a neighborhood watch sign on it, a white sign, and Cruces Dr. and Palmas Dr. in red letters. Do not take this road. The road parallel to it and on the right says Lost Valley Road (a street type sign, small, with a blue back ground and white lettering just to the left of the road you want to take), and a large wooden sign with a dark background and yellow lettering that says "Lost Valley Scout Camp, 11 miles."

Travel 3 miles and the field station will be on the left. There will be several small greenhouses, a small trailer, and a large work shed. The mountain has recently been burned, all hard to miss.

Warning: In the winter months, a 4x4 vehicle may be required to drive above the 3000 ft elevation. The Field Station is located at 4620 ft in elevation. Call ahead for road conditions.

Travel time: Approximately 1.5 hours from SDSU to Sky Oaks.
