SDSU Field Stations Program Scholarships: Graduate Student Research Award
Criteria | Terms of the Scholarship | Application | Meet the FSP ScholarsThe annually awarded SDSU Field Stations Program Graduate Student Research Award (GSRA) provides outstanding graduate students with financial support for research being conducted at Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve, Sky Oaks Field Station, Fortuna Mountain Research Reserve (within Mission Trails Regional Park), and/or Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (an auxiliary field station).
Criteria
GSRA applicants must be graduate students in good standing at SDSU, have documented evidence of outstanding ability and promise in research, and have proposed research to be conducted at or encompassing one of the four SDSU field stations. Regional relevancy and work conducted at more than one field station is particularly encouraged.Terms of the Scholarship
- This award is for one year only - starting date based on the starting date of the project. One-half ($1,250) will be presented at the time of the award. The remaining $1,250 will be given at the time the final report is turned in to the Field Stations Program (FSP).
- The recipient is expected to follow the main outline of the original proposal. If a major deviation is necessary, approval must be obtained from the SDSU Field Stations Program.
- If the recipient is unable to initiate or complete the proposed project for any reason, the funds shall be returned to the SDSU Field Stations Program.
- Acknowledgment of support from and use of SDSU Field Stations Program in publications resulting from the research is required.
- Two copies of all publications resulting from the research will be presented to the Field Stations Program office.
- At the completion of the grant, a 3-5 page executive summary of the work completed will be due to the FSP main campus office. Either a paper copy or an electronic (pdf) copy is acceptable. If a summary of work cannot be provided in a timely manner, the funds shall be retuned to FSP.
